Art keeps you healthy

Read a great article this morning about various studies conducted by the American Journal of Public Health and how there is a connection between creating and and improving health. There always seems to be a ton of these, but I feel there can never be enough attention on the subject.  The impact includes results such as “Improved medical outcomes” and “”reductions in depression” Additionally there is a published study in the Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine that showed when HIV patients used writing as a treatment, the results improved their CD4+ lymphocyte counts which improves their immune system.

In our always on, always connected world of television, social media, etc, art offers a way to get away from all of it. Take a minute to ignore all the incoming signals and create an outgoing one instead.
